The Cole Frederking Legacy Foundation Supports
We support high school students, theatre students, and film students who exhibit the kind of qualities Cole exemplified in his lifetime. Cole strived for excellence in everything he did. He set a goal and achieved it. Cole was known for his kindness, intellect, quick-wit, deep thinking, high moral standards, and excellent sense of humor. We provide scholarships and financial awards annually in May to students who embody what Cole stood for.

MVHS Theater Scholarship
The Cole Frederking Legacy Foundation will begin accepting applications in January 2026 to recognize a Mountain Vista High School theatre student who embodies the spirit with which Cole approached both his life and his education.
The Cole Frederking Legacy Foundation will award a Mountain Vista High School theatre student who exemplifies the same resilience, positivity, and determination that Cole displayed in the face of extreme adversity. Despite the challenges he faced, Cole brought a contagious energy to Mountain Vista High School, inspiring those around him. He gave 100% in everything he did—whether it was his academics, acting, or supporting others in their pursuit of excellence. Through his unwavering commitment, Cole showed us the power of perseverance, and we seek to celebrate that by honoring a student who mirrors the strength and spirit he demonstrated every day.
A scholarship from the Cole Frederking Legacy Foundation will provide $1,500 to a current Mountain Vista High School theatre student who embodies the spirit of how Cole approached theatre. One of Cole’s final wishes was to leave a legacy in the Mountain Vista High School theatre department he loved so much – StageFlight Theatre. We have created the Cole Frederking Legacy Foundation to honor that wish, to honor Cole, and to give back to the performing arts which gave him so much.

MVHS Film Award
The Cole Frederking Legacy Foundation will begin accepting applications in January 2026 to recognize a Mountain Vista High School film student who embodies the spirit with which Cole approached both his life and his education.
We would like to honor Cole by recognizing a current Mountain Vista High School film student who embodies the way Cole Frederking worked in film class. He not only had proficiency behind the camera, but was comfortable acting in front of the camera as well.
He gave 100% in everything he did—whether it was his academics, acting, films studies or supporting others in their pursuit of excellence. Through his unwavering commitment, Cole showed us the power of perseverance, and we seek to celebrate that by honoring a student who mirrors the strength and spirit he demonstrated every day.
A financial award from the Cole Frederking Legacy Foundation will provide $300 to a current Mountain Vista High School film student who embodies the way Cole Frederking approached film studies.
